KURE Hawthorne operates out of one of Portland's first food carts. It also happens to be our first location! Despite having been home to five other businesses prior to ours in it's 13 years standing (many of which went on to relocate in the same neighborhood), the 'hut' had been abandoned for some time when we found it. Needless to say, it needed some major TLC, so that is exactly what we gave it.
With tremendous support from the surrounding neighborhood and community, KURE Hawthorne proudly became a part of the area's eclectic landscape. Tucked beneath Mt. Tabor park, surrounded by Portland Craftsman bungalows and blocks away from the Hawthorne shopping district, 'K1' as we call it is happy to call South East Portland home.
Situated inside the Cargo building, this store resides in a 100 year old cargo bay, where old growth Douglas Fir beams line the 25 foot high ceiling. Serving Portland's creative district, this shop is centrally located, and likely the most accessible location we have.
This shop can be easily accessed by commuters, shoppers, bikers, runners, and anyone else who finds themselves traveling from one side of town to the other. Nestled in between the train tracks and the Willamette river, K3 is in the heart of South East Portland!
Nestled in the heart of Portland's up and coming West End neighborhood, our newest location is also the first to offer an extended menu, which includes macro bowls, salads, soup, hot cereal, hot drinks, and our full selection of açai bowls, smoothies, tonic shots, and organic juice. With neighbors like Lardo, Blue Star Donuts, Ruby Jewel Ice Cream, Tasty n Alder, and an assortment of awesome breweries and bars, we like to think this spot brings a nice balance to a district filled with decadence.
Our downtown shop opened in March of 2013 in the central business district. We fell in love with the area immediately, because the moment the doors opened we began meeting such fantastic people. Surrounded by boutique hotels, Pioneer Square, high rise buildings and other small businesses, we made friends with all sorts of folks from just about every industry, profession and walk of life. Between the tourists and the locals, KURE downtown is situated in Portland's own miniature melting pot. There almost couldn't be a better place to blend drinks for the people!
